Lowen & Navarro
Eric
Lowen and Dan Navarro began their career in the music industry as songwriters,
penning tunes for notable artists such as Pat Benatar, The Bangles,
The Four Tops, Dave Edmunds and The Temptations. The success of their
songwriting careers enabled them to pursue their dream of recording
their own songs as a duo.
In January 1988, Lowen & Navarro began performing weekly at The
Breakaway in Venice, CA. They generated a growing buzz about their
music throughout LA and by the end of 1989, they were recording their
first album. “Walking On A Wire” was released by Chameleon Records
in 1990. The album received rave reviews nationwide.
Over the next 10 years, they released 3 additional albums before forming
their own record company, Red Hen Records. Lowen & Navarro released
their second live album, “Live Radio” in 2002. The album, “All The
Time In The World”, was funded completely by their loyal fan base and
was released in 2004. During the recording of that album, Eric Lowen
was diagnosed with the incurable neuromuscular disease ALS, aka Lou
Gehrig’s Disease.
Lowen & Navarro released a 12-song live DVD in 2006. It includes
shots with six high definition cameras, clips from two live concerts
and a documentary-styled retrospective on the duos career.
